A native of Australia, and a business graduate from Swiss Association Hotel Management School, Les Roches, Crans Montana, Switzerland, Mr Halvorson has worked in the hotel and restaurant industry since 1988. His Career started with the opening the Park Hyatt, in Canberra, Australia, with highly awarded Oak Room fine dining restaurant.
Most recently, his positions have included Area GM for Kimpton Restaurants Washington DC, Director Restaurants for the Westin Fairfax ( home of former Washington Institution "the Jockey Club"), Assistant Director of F&B for Trans Asia hotels in Colombo, Sri Lanka, F&B manager of the Mt Buller Ski Resorts five Star hotel, Australia, Restaurant Director, Sheraton Luxury Collection Sydney, Chef at Grand Hotel Zermatterhof, Zermatt Switzerland and working for the Swiss Hotel Association in Switzerland.
For the past four years, Carl has been working as Director of F&B for Michel Richard, at Michel Richard Citronelle, Relais Gourmand, in Washington DC. Carl is also partner with Michel Richard in their new restaurant, Central Michel Richard, and also DC chefs / San Francisco chefs magazines for St judes
